The Hermiston School District has been notified of the death of a current senior and a recent graduate.
This is a difficult day for our staff and students. When things like this happen, everyone reacts differently, including sadness, fear, and anger. A virtual safe room has been set up by members of the crisis flight team to assist students in dealing with today’s news.
The district asks for parent and community support by keeping an eye out for those students, or staff members, that may be struggling with the news. If a student is struggling with the news, counselors are available to provide emotional support.
We are heartbroken for the affected families. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them and the friends of the students.
El Distrito está triste por la muerte de unos estudiantes
El Distrito Escolar de Hermiston ha sido notificado de la muerte de un estudiante que actualmente estaba cursando su último año en la preparatoria y de uno que recién se graduó.
Este es un día muy difícil para nuestro personal y los estudiantes. Cuando este tipo de cosas suceden, todos reaccionan diferente incluyendo tristeza, miedo, y coraje. Un salón virtual se ha apartado compuesto por consejeros listos para ayudar a los estudiantes a lidiar con la noticia del día de hoy.
El distrito le pide a los padres y comunidad de su apoyo manteniéndose vigilantes de aquellos estudiantes y miembros del personal, que pudieran estar batallando con la noticia. Si un estudiante está teniendo dificultad con la noticia, los consejeros están disponibles para proveer apoyo emocional.
Estamos desconsolados por las familias afectadas. Nuestro pésame y oraciones van con la familia y las amistades de los estudiantes.
