Meet the Principal - Delfino Osorio Garcia

Headshot of principal

Mr. Osorio began his career teaching Biology, Earth and Space Science, and Plant Science at Umatilla High School. He later joined Hermiston High School as a math teacher, where he taught Geometry and Algebra 2. He then transitioned back to teaching science, where he taught Forensic Science and AP Biology. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, with a minor in Spanish from the University of Idaho. He currently holds his administrative license in Oregon and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.
With a passion for supporting both students and educators, Mr. Osorio served as a secondary science instructional coach in Hermiston for four years. In this role, he facilitated PLCs, led curriculum alignment efforts, coached first-year science teachers, and designed professional development to enhance instruction across middle and high school classrooms.
Mr. Osorio believes that middle school is a launchpad for confidence, growth, and identity. He is committed to fostering a school culture that values learning from mistakes, celebrates student voice, and builds strong academic and social foundations.

A message from Mr. Osorio:

"Middle school is a place where students begin to understand who they are and what they’re capable of. I love seeing that moment when a student realizes, 'I can do this.' Whether it’s through academic grit, problem-solving, or a breakthrough in confidence, those are the moments that drive me as an educator. I’m just as inspired by our teachers, who bring passion, care, and creativity to their work every day.”

Mr. Osorio lives with his wife and their three children. As a family, they enjoy hiking, fishing, camping, and traveling together. Whether in the classroom or out in the community, he values connection, teamwork, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to thrive.
